Release Stress in Just 10 Minutes with These 10 Things That You Can Do
Stress can affect us on all levels; physically, emotionally, and mentally. Today more people than ever are stressed. According to The American Institute of Stress, about 33% of people report feeling extreme stress, 77% of people experience stress that affects their physical health, 73% of people have stress that impacts their mental health, 48% of people have trouble sleeping because of stress.
The Harvard Business Review reports, 85% of people believe their well-being has declined because of stress.
Daily we think over 60,000 thoughts in one day, most of those thoughts are negative, stressful, worry, and fear-based.
When we make it a conscious choice to shift our thoughts to more positive, productive, and purposeful ones we allow ourselves to access more peace, freedom, and happiness.
How can we manage and release stress throughout the day? The first step is to decide you will commit to doing at least one thing a day to release and manage the stress.
It doesn’t have to be a long, drawn-out process it can be simple practices that take 5 to 10 minutes throughout the day.
Here are some tips that you can implement and add to your toolbox.
Make a list of the top 10 happiest moments and experiences that occurred up until this point in your life. Save this list on your phone or in a place that you can see it easily. This automatically shifts your thinking and breaks the negative thought pattern loop that sometimes occurs.
Dance, jump, shake it off, and move your body! This not only benefits your lymphatic system, but it also helps to clear any energetic blocks that may be getting in the way not to mention it helps reduce stress, lessons your nerves, and gets you into motion.
Light a candle and stare at the flame as the candle burns, while being aware of your breath.
Get outside. Even if it is raining or snowing. You will be surprised at how much better you will feel even after just 5 minutes outside—change your environment, change your world.
Listen to soothing sounds like listening to ocean waves, sound healing meditations, or sound bowls, see what videos or audios you can access.
Watch something funny, or call that person that always makes you laugh or smile.

8. Try different breathing techniques, there are many that you can try. Deep breathing is one of the best ways to lower stress, it sends a message to your brain to calm down and relax, even if you take just 3 deep breaths right now.
9. Get around a child or an animal, and if you can’t physically be around either, pull up a picture of a child or animal that you love.
10. Digital detox for 5-10 minutes or longer! Put the phone down and step away from your computer. Also turning off all notifications and alerts for a certain amount of time is super helpful.
